Ali Edwards // Week 16
Hi, friends! Just wanted to put together a quick post on my spread for week 16 using the May Stories by the Month kit from Ali Edwards Design. I just heard they are about to increase quantities next month, so get on the wait list now!
The May kit is June-themed, with some really great products to tell Father's Day stories as well as summer stories. I wanted to use the kit for week 16 because we had some great Dad stories and some super fun outdoor time. Anyone who follows my spreads will notice that I hand-wrote all of my journaling this week. I NEVER do that. Real life crept in and I just could not get my computer working...so here we are. I don't hate the look, but it's not my favorite. What I did love is that writing the journaling is much quicker and was a great solution for getting a week done in about thirty minutes. I'm a fairly slow worker, mostly becuase I don't get large chunks of time to work on a project. This was a nice change.
My title card is an old AE card, I'm sorry I can't recall the kit. Simple embellishments this week, mostly chipboard. The colors in this one were just so pretty and fresh. Perfect for our current weather. The orange hand-drawn line card was from the Type kit. Loved using the "backyard adventures" stamp on vellum to document a fantastic outdoor painting session with the kiddos. Included yet another facemask photo to document my struggle with adult acne. Ugh. Sorry to say you'll probably see more of those...I just can't seem to get it under control. I like including those real-life photos. Maybe someday Ava will get comfort from knowing life isn't supposed to be perfect. I'm curious if anyone else tells those types of stories. Let me know!
