December Daily // Retrospective
Ah, this was my first album. Ever. The first of anything is special, right? I will always remember this year's December Daily as my gateway drug to memory keeping. And I have a dirty secret: I didn't finish. This year December was quite a roller coaster. Ben was admitted to the hospital for a four-day stay on November 29th. I tried to do too much and ended up stressed, frazzled and not very merry. Then, I lost my grandmother on Christmas Day and flew to Indiana for the viewing, funeral and burial. I miss her everyday. But there were still beautiful moments and memories I will always treasure mixed among the rest. But, back to December Daily.
I fell in love with this project. The process, the community around it, everything. I bought my album and the Paislee Press mini kit from Ali Edwards. I actually picked up a few kits back in July when they went on clearance: the 2015 main kit, Ashley G mini kit and the Jasmine Jones mini kit. I went overboard on stamps and embellishments, but in my defense, I don't have a stash to pull from. Next year will be a different story.
So, It's December 31st and I am putting this album on hold. For now, I need to close the book on December, literally and figuratively. When Ali launched her preview period in September, I was chomping at the bit to get started. My plan is that when next September rolls around, I will have my 2016 album to finish. I'm already looking forward to it...
